Heart Announces 2023 Women’s Wrestling Major Award Winners and All-Conference Teams
After the conclusion of the 2023 Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Wrestling Championship on Saturday, the Heart handed out the 2023 postseason awards.

2023 Heart Women's Wrestling Coach of the Year – Brieana Delgado, CMU
Coach Delgado and the Eagles placed third overall at the 2023 Heart Women's Wrestling Conference Championships over the weekend. Two Eagles finished in first-place in their respective brackets, as Caitlyn Thorne won the women's 116 pound bracket and Skye Realin won the 130-pound conference championship.
2023 Heart Women's Wrestling Co-Assistant Coach of the Year – Arelys Valles - Grand View
Coach Valles and the Vikings won their third-straight Heart Women's Wrestling Conference Championship. The Vikings have won all three Heart Conference Championship Tournaments, 2021, 2022, 2023.
2023 Heart Women's Wrestling Co-Assistant Coach of the Year – Monica Mendoza - Waldorf
Coach Mendoza and the Warriors took home sixth place at the Heart Championships. Emily Porras of Waldorf highlighted the event for the Warriors, with her third-place finish in the 101-bracket.
2023 Heart Women's Wrestling Co - Freshman of the Year – Caitlyn Davis - CMU
Davis finished as the runner-up in the 155-pound championship. She was also selected the NAIA National Wrestler of the Week on November 25.
2023 Heart Women's Wrestling Co - Freshman of the Year – Catherine Campbell - Grand View
Campbell won the women's 123-pound conference championship on Saturday. The event took place inside the Penn Activity Center on the campus of William Penn University.
2023 Heart Women's Wrestling Newcomer of the Year –Kelani Corbett - MVC
Corbett took home first-place in the 191-pound conference championship bracket. She also captured the last two Heart Women's Wrestler of the Week awards, winning them back-to-back to end the regular season.
2023 Heart Women's Wrestling Co-Conference Tournament Outstanding Wrestler - Skye Realin - CMU
Realin won the women's 130-pound championship with a 9-3 decision over Andrea Schlabach of Grand View.
2023 Heart Women's Wrestling Co-Conference Tournament Outstanding Wrestler - Aduago Nwachukwu - Iowa Wesleyan
Nwachukwu, who is the defending NAIA National Champion, won the 136-pound championship with a Fall in 1:08 victory over Missouri Valley's Jade Martin.
2023 Heart Women's Wrestler of the Year – Kelani Corbett - Missouri Valley
Corbett won the 191-pound conference championship with an 8-4 decision over Jaycee Foeller of Central Methodist.
The 2023 Heart Men's Wrestling All-Conference team is based on results in each weight class from the Heart Conference Championship, a 1st Place finish = First Team All-Conference, 2nd Place = Second Team All-Conference and 3rd Place finish = Third Team All-Conference.
