No. 1 Nationally Ranked Mia Palumbo Captures Heart Women’s Wrestler of the Week

No. 1 nationally ranked 109-pound women's wrestler in the NAIA, Mia Palumbo, of William Penn University earned this week's Heart Women's Wrestler of the Week award, announced on Monday.

Palumbo went 4-0 at the Missouri Valley Open. In her first three matches, the junior defeated Lita Cruz of Life University by Tech Fall, 11-0, she followed that up with a victory over Natalie Reyna of Southern Oregan by Fall, 3:48. She then defeated Elizabeth Dosado of Cumberlands by Tech Fall, 12-1.

In the championship round, she impressively defeated Ava Bayless of the University of Iowa, by a 2-1 decision.
