Heart Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Runners of the Week Announced

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced this week's Heart Cross Country Runners of the Week, as J'Lyn Knutson of Mount Mercy was awarded the Heart Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week and Brandon Williams of William Penn earned the Heart Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week honors.

Knutson placed fourth overall out of 59 total runners at the Grand View Viking Invitational with her time of 20:22. The Mustangs won the team title overall in the 5K race.

Williams took home first place at the Grand View Invitational, ahead of a field of 69 total competitors, with his time of 26:41.

The junior won his second-consecutive race and he helped lead the Statesmen to their second-straight team title. The Fountain, Colorado native won the 8K race by 23 seconds.
